How to get Session ID in Nigerian Banks

This article explains everything you need to know about Session ID of a Transaction in Nigerian Bank Accounts and how to get it.
Bank Session ID

Session ID in bank is a 30-digit unique identifier codes, usually consist of alphabets and numbers, that's used to track and trace any financial transactions in bank.

The session ID is generated at every initiated transactions. It doesn't matter whether the transaction is successful or not. So far it's initiated, a session ID will be attached to it.

In this article, I will discuss how to get Session ID in most common Nigerian banks. But before that, let's quickly look into how session ID works in a bank account.

How does Session ID works in Banks

Many people are looking for how to get their bank transaction session ID because it's usually required by funds receiving bank whenever money get stucked. The bank will use the transaction session ID to trace and drop the transaction in the appropriate bank account.

In a nutshell, Session ID is being used to by any financial institutions to trace and track stucked financial transactions. When a transaction is initiated, it will have a open entries and end entries. These entries is represented with a codes; the combination of the codes is known as Session ID.

In addition, it's important to note that Session ID is also known as Transfer ID and Transaction ID. However, a Session ID is different from Reference Number and Referral ID.

First Bank Session ID

To get First Bank session ID, kindly login to your First Bank Mobile App. Navigate to History and search for the transaction in question. Tap on the transaction receipt and scroll down to get the session ID.

Alternatively, you can also get First Bank session ID via the bank online banking portal. If you're an e-banking users, kindly login to your account and navigate to "Manage Transaction History". Look for the transaction receipt in question and view it to get the session ID.

Lastly, you can get First Bank Session ID via your bank account statement. Kindly login to your first bank account via your favorite means of logging in, download and print your bank account statement and you will see every Session ID at the front of all transactions on the account statement.

UBA Session ID

UBA 30-digits Session ID can be gotten via four methods; via UBA Mobile Banking App, E-banking, Account Statement and Leo Chatbot.

You can kindly login to your UBA account on app or e-banking portal and navigate to the transaction in question to locate it session ID.

However, to get your transaction session ID through LEO the Chatbot, you first need to activate the chatbot for your UBA Account.

To do that, kindly get Leo WhatsApp number on UBA official website, add it to your contact list and text the chatbot on WhatsApp using the number connected to your UBA bank account, otherwise, the chatbot will not be activated for your account.

Once Leo has been able to activate on your account, type HI and the chatbot will reply you with series of options to choose from. Just tell the bot that you want to get session ID for a particular transaction. Continue with the conversation and the chatbot will guide you through how to get your UBA transaction 30-digits session ID.

Lastly, you can simply download your UBA Account statement via Leo, e-banking and mobile banking app to get your 30-digits session ID.

PalmPay Session ID

To get PalmPay session ID, open your PalmPay App, tap on "History" on your homepage, search for the transaction in question and the transaction ID will be displayed as highlighted in the image below.

Remember, Session ID is also the same as Transaction ID. So, depending on the bank you're using, some bank can call it Transfer ID; a typical example is United Bank for Africa (UBA).

OPay Session ID

To get OPay session ID is also easy. Simply login to your OPay Account and navigate to Transaction History. Search for the particular transaction and locate the session ID known as "Transaction Number" in the receipt.

How to get Access Bank Session ID

Session ID of a transaction in Access Bank Account can be gotten from the bank mobile banking app's transaction receipt, the generated bank account statement and the bank online banking portal.
